Benefits of the DaguaFlo Solution

Dagua develops, manufactures and markets stand-alone, safe and environmentally-friendly drinking water treatment plants for small- and medium-sized communities of up to 13,000 people using an average of 400 litres/person/day (up to 200,000 people for international markets, depending on average water consumption/person/day).

Drinking water without chemicals

Unlike most treatment alternatives, the DaguaFlo process uses no chemicals (no coagulants or flocculants) to treat raw water, even when contaminated content is exceptionally high. Scientifically proven and government certified, the DaguaFlo solution has clearly demonstrated that the management and operation of its plants requires only water and air. Accordingly, it generates no sludge or toxic waste, which are generally costly and difficult to manage.

Effective solution that works

Dagua ranks among the Canadian companies providing new global water treatment solutions that demonstrated the best capabilities recognized by the Quebec Department of Sustainable Development. In fact, Dagua ranks first among Canadian suppliers of technologies certified by the Quebec Department of Sustainable Development on all of the key parameters measured (turbidity, TOC and colour).

The DaguaFlo solution uses proven and recognized technologies combined with a highly effective ozonation process. Ozone is a natural disinfectant gas that is manufactured from ambient air and 500 times more active than chlorine.

Automated, reliable and easy-to-operate process

DaguaFlo technology measures plant operations and treated drinking water quality on an ongoing basis. Regardless of variations in the quality of your raw water, you can rely on a supply of consistently high-quality drinking water - with only 30 minutes of operator intervention per day.

This ease of operation also enables you to monitor and manage plant operations from a remote location, using a telemetric link (modem or Internet). Occasional process adjustments in response to raw water quality fluctuations and regular system cleaning are both performed automatically by the plant.

Operating costs up to 40% lower

Dagua's rate structure offers a significant overall financial advantage by combining capital costs with operating costs over a 20-year period. In the municipal sector, where operating costs are financed through tax revenue, it is especially important to consider all costs associated with water treatment technology.

Unlike many other treatment technologies, the DaguaFlo solution requires no costly chemical products, specialized labour or replacement parts. Thus, power supply represents the main operating cost. These benefits result in savings on operating costs of up to 40%, representing a significant overall economic value for our clients.

When capital costs and annual recurring operating costs are combined over a 20-year period, Dagua comes out well ahead of the competition.

Certified solution

In 2002, Dagua became the first Canadian company to receive a certification from the Quebec Department of Sustainable Development for its new drinking water treatment technology. After several pilot projects on exceptionally hard-to-treat water and following independent assessments required by the government, Dagua now has five certifications to its name.

Prefabricated and modular concept

The DaguaFlo Solution is prefabricated and pretested prior to delivery to client for accelerated implementation.

With its prefabricated modular design, the plant can be deployed alone or in multiple units, depending on your specific drinking water requirements. It can be incorporated into an existing structure or delivered with its own housing (maritime container for international market). Our plants can even be mounted on wheels for mobile units. Each plant is designed to respond to the specific needs and realities of our clients.
